He began what was to be a long connection with the Naval Intelligence community as a Japanese language student stationed in Japan from 1938 to 1941. Ray Rufus Taylor, 86, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in Jonesville.

Vice Admiral Taylor was born in 1910 in ST Louis, MO and graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1933.
